flow alarm with Bruker D8 Advance (installed 2008)

Post by chegmr » 06 Apr 2017, 10:19

Since our chiller for our sealed tube and generator failed and we had a rental one installed, we have been having regular shutdowns with water flow alarms .
The water flow in D8 tools has always been above 4.5 l/min and when we watch it , it does not vary by more than 0.05 l/min

Is there a way in d8 tools that we can get a log of the water flow rate over time ?

I was able to do this with our Cryostream

We have replaced the flow meter just yesterday by one of our in-house engineers and the same error occurs so I am suspecting a board problem

Ive emailed Bruker but wondered if the community had experience of something like this.

Thanks for any ideas

Eventually we found out the chiller was faulty not the diffractometer.
As a last resort we connected to the mains (which is strongly discouraged by the uni) and the problem went away, apart from the times when there is a problem with the pressure of our mains supply .
We are waiting on the installation of a building chiller system from which we have our own enclosed loop
